Marvel has so many properties in the works that there are hundreds of roles up for grabs. This past week gave us two new additions AKA Jessica Jones as well as confirmation on a character in Captain America: Civil War. A former Bond villain also shares that he wants one of the many available roles. There was also a new episode of Agent Carter this week and the show-runners revealed a Black Widow connection. Chris Hemsworth offered an update on Thor: Ragnarok and the first TV spot for Avengers: Age of Ultron was released.
Toby Stephens Wants Marvel Role
There are many future Marvel role's up for grabs and the former Bond villain Toby Stephens wants one of them. In an interview with Radio Times, he said, "Marvel is one franchise that I think is fun, because they have this great blend of humour and irony alongside the superhero element. They tend to be very satisfying films to watch. I admire them for that. I don’t care whether it’s playing in one of those as a superhero or baddie, it would just be such fun to do one."
Daniel Brühl's Civil War Role Confirmed
When Marvel first announced the addition of Daniel Brühl to Captain America: Civil War, insiders in the business found that he was most likely a villain and also could appear in Doctor Strange. Now, thanks to a casting call, Brühl has been revealed to be Baron Zemo.
David Tennant Cast as Purple Man
Marvel's second Netflix program AKA Jessica Jones should start production soon and with that, the cast should be filling out quickly. Earlier this week, they announced that David Tennant has joined the show as Kilgrave, also known as Purple Man.
Agent Carter EP 4
Marvel's newest property is now halfway through its first season. Agent Carter has been a hit on many levels. Now that the fourth episode is over, you can read our full review of the episode and check out a preview for next week's episode featuring the return of the Howling Commandos.
Black Widow Connection in Agent Carter
At the end of "The Blitzkrieg Button," Dottie (Bridget Regan) showed off some moves similar to those used by Black Widow. The show-runners Tara Butters and Michele Fazekas told IGN that she is from the same program that trained a young Natasha Romanoff.
Hemsworth Updates Ragnarok
We are only a few months away from the release of Avengers: Age of Ultron and Ant-Man and production on Captain America: Civil War will start soon. The next installment in the Thor franchise is set to come out in 2017 and Thor himself, Chris Hemsworth, gave an update on the current state of the project. He told Digital Spy that there is currently no script for Thor: Ragnarok but that "it's pretty big this one."
Rachael Taylor Cast as Hellcat
Not only did Marvel add David Tennant to the cast of AKA Jessica Jones but they also added a potential super-heroine partner. They have cast Rachael Taylor as Patricia "Trish" Walker, who became Hellcat in the comics. Read more about the newest addition to the cast here.
