Reports have come out today that Lou Ferrigno has told a local radio station in Minnesota that Marvel is planning another Hulk solo movie. This is not the first time Ferrigno, the former Hulk, has said a new Hulk movie is coming. Back in December of 2013, Ferrigno did an interview with Flicks and the City where he reiterated this statement. He said that after the success of Avengers, Disney agreed to produce a solo Hulk movie.
A new Hulk movie would have a lot of questions surrounding it. The first two Hulk movies, Hulk and The Incredible Hulk, did not do well in the box offices. If Marvel Studios were to produce a third solo Hulk movie, they would be doing so with a third different actor portraying Bruce Banner. Eric Bana played Bruce Banner in Hulk while Edward Norton played him in The Incredible Hulk. Now, Marvel Studios has cast their own version of Bruce Banner in Mark Ruffalo. Ruffalo has said that he would like to see a solo Hulk movie in the future.
Fans will get a better look at Mark Ruffalo's portrayal of the Hulk next year when he reprises his role in Avengers: Age of Ultron. It has been reported that Bruce Banner will have a much bigger role in this movie. Everyone raved about how great the Hulk was in Avengers and that attributes to why Marvel Studios and Disney are thinking about another solo Hulk movie.
If this movie is green lit, the earliest we could expect it would be the summer of 2016. If Marvel Studios decided to do this movie, they would potentially be pushing back another Thor movie or launching another franchise like Doctor Strange. A solo Hulk movie would need to do very well in the box office and launching it in the summer of 2016, only a few months after Captain America 3, would help the box office sales. The first two Hulk movies did a combined $508.8 and Marvel Studios and Disney would want to see their solo Hulk movie do close to that.

A solo Hulk movie could have a bunch of intriguing possibilities. Fans have wanted a Planet Hulk movie for a long time and that would seem to be the likeliest of options. We do not know a lot about what will happen in Avengers: Age of Ultron but we have been given some hints into what the Hulk could do. Marvel Studios released some concept art earlier this year where we got to see our first glimpse of a Hulk vs Hulkbuster fight. But why would Tony Stark be fighting his closest friend from the Avengers? He has lost control. In the Planet Hulk story arc, Hulk is banished to another planet by a group including Tony Stark and Doctor Strange. Hulk had recently lost control in the comics and went on a rampage. He then exiled himself to the wilderness when Fury approaches him about going into space to save the world.
Once Hulk arrives in space he discovers that it was a trick and that he is being sent far away. Hulk obviously hates this and overtakes the planet he is sent to and becomes its new ruler. He goes on to destroy entire planets and civilizations. This is where the Guardians could come into play and try and stop him. I mean, just imagine a Hulk vs Groot fight! Not only could a Guardians cameo be possible but maybe one from that mystery guy who popped up at the end of the Avengers.
Maybe Hulk could go to destroy a planet when he encounters Thanos but when he is unable to defeat Thanos and his army alone, Hulk realizes he needs to go to Earth and warn the Avengers of what is on their way.
