Will Peter Parker or Miles Morales Lead New Spider-Man Movie?

When Sony and Marvel first announced that Spider-Man was heading to the MCU exactly 2 weeks ago, the internet and Marvel fan boys and girls exploded with excitement. The thought of Spider-Man sharing the same screen as Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, and more got the internet buzzing.

Unfortunately, this means that Spider-Man would be rebooted again, and that means no more Andrew Garfield. A new actor will come on board soon, especially with reports of Spider-Man appearing in Captain America: Civil War.

In the official press release from Marvel, Doug Belgrad, president of Sony Pictures Entertainment Motion Picture Group, said "Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios share a love for the characters in the Spider-Man universe and have a long, successful history of working together. This new level of collaboration is the perfect way to take Peter Parker's story into the future."

In that quote, Belgrad says that Marvel and Sony will share Peter Parker's story. Not Miles Morales'.

However, there have been lots of rumors that Marvel and Sony could go a different route and give us our first non Peter Parker Spider-Man movie.

These reports escalated when Jeff Sneider said on Meet the Movie Press that he was "95% sure" Spider-Man wouldn't be white. Snieder responded with the following tweets, stating that it is not confirmed but just what he has been hearing.

If Spider-Man is set to appear in Captain America: Civil War then Marvel and Sony will need an actor in the next few months. Check out my list of 5 Possible Spider-Man Actors should Marvel stay with the Peter Parker story.
