Season 2 for Marvel's Agents of SHIELD has been a complete turnaround from season 1. After a shaky beginning to the show, it started turning around after the fall of HYDRA and tying into the events of Captain America: The Winter Soldier. It has continued the strong run into season 2 leading up to this week's episode "A Hen in the Wolfhouse."
This is arguably the best and most exciting episode of the show and certainly of season 2. This episode gave us our introduction to the beautiful Ardianne Palicki as Bobbi Morse aka Mockingbird, and she totally stole the show. She is going to be outstanding addition to the cast and hopefully can make some appearances on the big screen.
While getting to see Mockingbird in action was mine and many other's favorite part, also getting to see more of Skye's dad was fascinating. He has anger management issues to say the least and gave us our biggest tease into finding out who Skye really is.
The episode though did have a downfall that seems to be recurring. So far they have gotten close to answering some major questions the show has but right when they get close to diving further into it, something else conveniently comes up to distract them from the situation.
In this episode for instance Coulson tells Skye she might not be human but an alien (an Inhuman?), but the Raina calls to stop the conversation. Coulson also shows Skye his carvings and after touching it for the very first time, realizes it's a map but does not state what it is a map of or to. It's also interesting to point out that Skye researched the markings for months and could not figure out what they are, so why at her first touch did she know?
The questions list continues to grow for Agents of SHIELD while not giving us many clear cut answers. We need to have some of these questions answered soon and make sure they have been worth the wait.
Agents of SHIELD returns next week with Bobbi Morse and Jemma Simmons as part of the team. The team will also turn to a former member for help as they come to face to face with Senator Ward.
