Six Supporting Actors Join Daredevil

In less than one month, Marvel's first Netflix original series Daredevil will debut and fans will be able to instantly stream the entire 13 episode series.

The new trailer gave us some new footage and looks Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox), Wilson Fisk (Vincent D'Onofrio), and other supporting characters.

Today, Marvel gave more details on six supporting characters.

Rob Morgan has joined the cast as Turk Barrett, who is "a smalltime criminal in Hell's Kitchen." Matt Gerald, who at one point was attached to Ant-Man, was announced as playing Melvin Potter and described as "a machinist caught between a rock and a hard place."

Marvel and showrunner Steven DeKnight also have created a few original characters for the show. Peter Shinkoda has been attached to the show for a while but his character has appeared to have a name change. Shinkoda's character originally was reported as having the name Hachiro but it is now Nobu, who is "a Japanese businessman with an agenda all his own.

Wai Ching Ho has been cast as Madame Gao, "a powerful woman running her own trade," while Nikolai Nikolaeff and Gideon Emery have been cast as Vladimir and Anatoly respectively. The two are "Russian brothers looking to forge new names for themselves in America."

DeKnight had this to say about the new additions, “It’s an honor to be working with such a talented and diverse group of artists who vividly bring these characters to life. The challenge in bringing 'villains' to the screen is always in portraying them as three-dimensional characters.  Our actors exceeded all expectations in this regard, crafting deeply flawed, wonderfully human antagonists.”
