Late last year, it was announced that Daniel Brühl was joining the cast of Captain America: Civil War. At the time, he was rumored to be playing the villain known as Baron Zemo and would be only a small role until he appears again in Doctor Strange.
There was a casting sheet later on that labeled his role as Baron Zemo but Marvel had still not confirmed that's who he is playing.
Brühl has beaten them to it as he confirmed his role to The Independent during an interview.
In the interview, first found by Marvel_Freshman of ComicBookMovie, they asked him if he was in fact playing Baron Zemo and he responded by saying, “I think I can tell you that without being thrown into Marvel prison.”
Captain America: Civil War is scheduled to start filming tomorrow so we can expect an official casting list, roles, and synopsis from Marvel soon.
