Marvel and Netflix hit a home run with their first team up series, Daredevil, and they both want more.
Marvel has officially announced that the show has already been renewed for a second season!
The second season will debut on Netflix sometime in 2016, which means production should not be far off.
Thanks to the quick renewal, Steven DeKnight has had to step down due to previous commitments. DeKnight will be replaced by Doug Petrie and Marco Ramirez.
DeKnight said, "While previous commitments unfortunately prevent me from continuing on with Daredevil into its second season, I could not be happier that Doug Petrie and Marco Ramirez are carrying the torch. They were invaluable collaborators during our first season, and I for one can't wait to see what they do with the show moving forward."
It is safe to assume that Charlie Cox (Daredevil), Rosario Dawson (Claire Temple), Elden Henson (Foggy Nelson), Deborah Ann Woll (Karen Page), and Vincent D'Onofrio (Kingpin) will all reprise their roles in the second season.
Marvel's press release confirmed that AKA Jessica Jones will debut later this year with Luke Cage debuting in 2016 along with Daredevil Season 2. Iron Fist and The Defenders will likely come in 2017.
