Marvel Weekly News #33

This was a big week for Marvel as they launched the beginning of a new avenue of the MCU. Daredevil has finally debuted on Netflix but there was a lot more that happened leading up to it. The final Avengers: Age of Ultron trailer debuted plus more information on Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 & 2, Agents of SHIELD, Black Panther, and Ant-Man surfaced.

Final Age of Ultron Trailer
Now that we are under three weeks from the release of Avengers: Age of Ultron and Marvel decided to release the final trailer for the highly anticipated sequel. The trailer shows some new footage but you can watch it below!

Grillo Coming to Civil War
Last time we saw Brock Rumlow (Frank Grillo), he was badly injured after being inside a collapsing building. Grillo and the Russo brothers have teased what may be ahead for the character before but Grillo seemed to confirm his involvement in Captain America: Civil War early this week. Read more about Grillo returning here.

Infinity War Gets Directors and Writers
After months of rumors and speculation, Marvel finally made the hiring of the Joe and Anthony Russo to direct Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 & 2 official. This comes a few weeks after Badass Digest broke the news that the duo had agreed to direct and they are back again this week to announce the writers. Devin Faraci broke the news that Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely will write the third and fourth Avengers movies. Markus and McFeely have previously written Captain America: The First Avenger, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Captain America: Civil War, and Thor: The Dark World.

No End Credit Scene for Age of Ultron
Post credit scenes have become a staple of the MCU and fans have expected them to both make them laugh but also show a piece of what is to come. Avengers featured the reveal of Thanos and then the infamous shawarma scene. While talking to EW, Whedon said that Avengers: Age of Ultron will only have one scene. It appears we will get one that foreshadows what is to come in the future but that there will not be a funny one to send the crowd out on.

Agents of SHIELD EP 16
Agents of SHIELD started to delve in to the Inhuman rituals and history this past week. It also featured the return of a surprise character from season 1. Read our full review of "Afterlife" here.

Hudson in Running for T'Chaka
Marvel announced last year that they were finally bringing Black Panther into the MCU. They also announced that Chadwick Boseman would be T'Challa and debut in Captain America: Civil War. It appears that they are now closing in on finding his father, T'Chaka. Elmayimbe of Latino-Review revealed that actor Ernie Hudson is circling the role.

New Age of Ultron Banner
EW published their summer preview magazine and there are four different covers. The covers combined together to form the above banner.
Vision Solo Poster
Fans were disappointing when it seemed that we would not be getting a solo poster for the Vision after getting them for the rest of the main cast in Avengers: Age of Ultron. Thankfully, Marvel released a solo poster for the mysterious Vision, played by Paul Bettany, and it is spectacular.

Agents of SHIELD Spinoff in the Works
Even though the ratings are not as high as Marvel would like, Agents of SHIELD has been a big success during the second season. Marvel and ABC are so happy with what the show is producing that they are reportedly in the early stages of developing a spinoff. EW dropped the exclusive news late in the week and we developed 5 Ideas for the Agents of SHIELD Spinoff Series.
Official Image of Yellowjacket Released
After Avengers: Age of Ultron hits theaters, Marvel will turn their attention towards promotion Ant-Man. EW was able to release the first official image of the Yellowjacket suit Darren Cross (Corey Stoll) will wear in the movie. If you look closely, he has a very small Ant-Man (Paul Rudd) leaping towards him!

Early Age of Ultron Reactions
Marvel let select members of the media see Avengers: Age of Ultron and the early reactions have been very positive across Twitter. We have gathered reactions from various people across the web and compiled them all here.

Daredevil Hits Netflix
Marvel and Netflix launched their brand new partnership yesterday with Daredevil debuting across the world simultaneously. Daredevil is darker and more violent than anything we have seen in the MCU and it isn't even close. We will have a full review up soon but we are very excited about where Marvel can go from here.

Feige Confirms High School Peter Parker for Reboot
Just as I was finishing writing this, Collider dropped some cool news from their recent interview with Kevin Feige. Feige was asked about their ideal Spider-Man and said, "In terms of the age of an actor we’ll eventually to cast, I don’t know. In terms of the age of what we believe Peter Parker is, I’d say 15-16 is right.” This should end the debate among fans of which Spider-Man we will see in the MCU for the next 10+ years.
