Based on initial reviews and fan reactions, Marvel has a hit on their hands with Agent Carter. I thoroughly enjoyed the 2 hour premiere and episode 3 "Time and Tide" continued to deliver really good content.
As the SSR has an unpleasant conversation with Jarvis, they get closer to solving the Howard Stark case. This is not any ordinary case and will divide the SSR during the duration of the investigation.
Peggy Carter continues to undermine her fellow SSR agents and while she is helping solve the case and clear Stark's name, it is not helping her position at the SSR. At some point Peggy will have to get the help of fellow agents to solve the case but also to form SHIELD. It seems like Agent Sousa (Enver Gjokaj) and Agent Thompson (Chad Michael Murray) are the most likely to eventually trust Peggy.
It may take time for that trust to come Peggy's way after her anonymous tip got Agent Krzeminski killed. Just who the man was who killed Krzeminski is still a mystery. Is he working for the Leviathan or someone else?
The episode once again featured strong performances from Hayley Atwell and James D'Arcy. Atwell was absolutely terrific and kicked some major butt in her action sequences.
Enver Gjokaj, Chad Michael Murray, Shea Whigham, and Lyndsy Fonseca also were good as we continued to get to know each of them better. We also were introduced to Dottie (Bridget Regan), Peggy's newest neighbor.
Agent Carter is on a break for a week and will return January 27th with "The Blitzkrieg Button" and a cameo by Stan Lee! Check out the promo below!

Marvel has one of the most if not the most anticipated film of 2015 coming to theaters in May. Avengers: Age of Ultron returns the faces we know and love from the Marvel cinematic universe while also adding a few new allies and a villain without any strings.
The second trailer for Avengers: Age of Ultron debuted tonight and continued to show why it is such an anticipated film. Watch the trailer above for lots of new footage of Ultron, the Hulk vs Hulkbuster fight, and lots more. Check out a whole bunch of new screens below as well as a quick breakdown of what we learned in the new trailer.
The first two images give us some better looks at Captain America's new uniform. The third image shows him in what has turned out to be an incredibly tough fight with an Ultron bot. Seeing as how strong the bot is compared to him makes me wonder just how much he can help take down Ultron himself.
This image is likely the final part of a scene where Hawkeye, Quicksilver, and Scarlet Witch are rescuing people from a rundown town. It appears that the people are being loaded up into some sort of hover craft. When did the Avengers get this type of vehicle and where will they take them?
These two images above are both of Black Widow. The first one shows an unknown female slamming her onto an operating cart. This appears to be a flashback scene based on her looks. Her hair is much longer and she is wearing earrings and saying she has no place in the world. Her look in the second image is how she will look during the movie and is vastly different than the first. What kind of operation did she undergo in her past? That will be very interesting to find out.
This screen gives us our second look at Andy Serkis. He is clearly not a friendly for the Avengers. It has been a popular assumption that he is playing Black Panther villain, Ulysses Klaw. It may be nothing but, on his necklace there appears to be a claw on it.
This image shows Black Widow armed with some heavy artillery. Based on some other images and scenes, it appears that these guns are going to be used in a battle against Ultron. The guns themselves look different than anything she has used so far so they could be designed by Stark.
This image is one of the most interesting shots of the trailer. It features a mysterious bald black woman. The location seems to be similar to a shot in the first trailer of an angry Thor in water surrounded by rocks. Could she be the one to leave Thor there and what would she do to make him so mad?
The first of these two images of Iron Man feature him striking the iconic landing pose as he gets ready to storm Baron Von Strucker's castle. The second is Iron Man getting hit by a huge blast of some sort. It could be during a battle with Scarlet Witch or with Ultron. Based on an image you can see later on, it appears to be an Ultron blast.
These three images give us different looks at Bruce Banner. The first image shows Banner apparently transforming into the Hulk in some sort of lab. Why would he get mad in a friendly environment? That is unknown but focus on his eyes just shortly in the first two images. They are green. The second image shows Black Widow possibly calming the Hulk down. The final image is of a very angry Hulk but also with some reddish eyes. Scarlet Witch could be controlling him and be behind the Hulkbuster vs Hulk fight. Speaking of that...
These images are all from the most anticipated fight of the film. It will clearly be a very even battle. Both are throwing each other around and in the first image, the Hulkbuster is flying around holding the Hulk by the neck. Then the Hulkbuster is gearing up to fire his blasters at the Hulk. The final image erases suspicions that the Hulkbuster armor was actually being controlled by Ultron. It is clearly Tony Stark in the armor battling his close friend, who may be under the influence of something else.
This image is interesting based on the arc that Stark has gone through in the movies. He appears to be walking into a room filled with weapons and bombs. They might not be his and could be HYDRAs but its unclear.
Here, Thor appears to be channeling his electrical powers through his chest and eventually blast it out of his chest. It is a new move for Thor to use in battle. Also, the walls appear similar to the ones in the image of Black Widow early on.
This image gives us one of our best looks at the Ultron bots in action. They will definitely play a big part in Ultron's attacks.
Here is the image of Ultron sending his own blast out of him. This could be the blast that sent Iron Man flying early on. This also is one of our first looks at Ultron in action and what exactly the Avengers will have to go up against.

It's a new year and that means the start of new promotions for Marvel. This past week, they gave us lots of news and promotions for their summer movie Ant-Man. Between a trailer, official photos, and a teaser poster, Marvel is trying to make the public more aware of the upcoming film. It was also a big week for Marvel on the television front. Agent Carter debuted as well as an official release date for Daredevil was set. Other news this week include Cumberbatch talking about Doctor Strange, Renner teasing mystery Hawkeye project, new addition to Agents of SHIELD cast, an Agent Carter cameo, and filming information for Captain America: Civil War revealed.
Doctor Strange Introduces a Huge New Element
After a long process with many twists and turns, the fan favorite Benedict Cumberbatch is officially Doctor Strange. Cumberbatch is now allowed to answer some questions about the role. In an interview withThe Wall Street Journal, he was asked if the role was a risk. He said, "I don’t think it’s a risk because of Marvel. Marvel is a stable of bringing out ordinary comic characters and turning them into screen-like gods. It’s very different, it’s an Astral Plane. There’s a huge new element to this Marvel universe that’s going to be employed in building this story and this character. But you know, I’m really excited about it, about working with Scott [Derrickson] whose imagination is endless, and all the boys and girls at Marvel who know what they’re doing."
Ant-Man Teaser Poster and Trailer
As mentioned earlier, Marvel has started ramping up the promotions for Ant-Man. This week gave us our first teaser poster (pictured above) for the film which pokes fun at just how small and unique of a character Ant-Man is. They also released the first teaser trailer for the movie after the premiere of Agent Carter. I already broke down the trailer earlier in the week which you can seehere.
Mystery Hawkeye Role
When the Phase 3 lineup was announced, fans were upset by the lack of appearances that Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) and Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) could have. Renner has already expressed how he was unpleased with his role as Loki's minion for the majority of The Avengers and that has resulted in a larger role in Avengers: Age of Ultron. Now Renner has hinted at an upcoming mystery role. On Tuesday, Renner posted on social media saying "Tues morn. I find myself in costume again. I just can't tell you why. And it still fits! #marvel #avengers #hawkeye" Could he be appearing in this season of Agents of SHIELD? Or is he simply doing a fitting to get ready for a possible role in Captain America: Civil War? Only time will tell.
Agent Carter Premiere
With Agents of SHIELD on its winter break, Marvel has launched a brand new show based around the life of Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell) following the events of Captain America: The First Avenger. It had a two hour premiere on Tuesday that was really good. Read ourfull review of the premiereand tune in every Tuesday at 9 p.m. EST on ABC for new episodes.
Daredevil Release Date Set
Post-production for the first Netflix exclusive Marvel series is well underway. Now, Marvel has given us the day that we will be able to get our Daredevil binge on. Find that out plus see a cool moving poster at ourfull post.
Agents of SHIELD Casts Olmos
The cast and crew of Agents of SHIELD are back to work following their winter break to finish what should be a crazy season 2. As they aim toanswer some unanswered questions, the show has also been adding to its cast. This week Marvel announced that Edward James Olmos has joined the show as Robert Gonzalez. His presence on the show "will have massive repercussions for Director Coulson and his team."
Agent Carter Cameo
Marvel's newest series Agent Carter is already two episodes in and has been a big hit among critics and fans. Marvel has officially titled and described the fourth episode "The Blitzkrieg Button" and revealed it will feature a cameo by the great Stan Lee!
Civil War Filming Locations
Captain America: Civil War starts production soon and is the film that will kick off Phase 3 of the Marvel cinematic universe. Anthony Mackie, who is confirmed to be returning in the movie as Sam Wilson (The Falcon), revealed some more information on the movies production in a recent interview withB96 Chicago. He confirmed that Captain America: Civil War will start filming in April and that he will be on set for about 5 months. He also said the movie will film in Atlanta (like many of the Marvel movies) but also Berlin and Puerto Rico. Could the Civil War story line lead to a global dispute? We will have to wait and see.

2015 is a big year for Marvel. They just launched Agent Carter with a two hour premiere, and a much improved Agents of SHIELD returns mid-March. They also have one of the most anticipated sequels in recent memory in Avengers: Age of Ultron hitting theaters in May and then Ant-Man in July. This is also the year that Marvel will debut the first and likely second of five original series on Netflix.
We've known for some time that Daredevil would hit the online streaming service in 2015, but we not have an official date. Daredevil, the 13 episode series, will hit Netflix on April 10 of this year!
This release date is about a month earlier than was expected. Daredevil was expected to be released in May after the second season of Agents of SHIELD was over and Avengers: Age of Ultron had hit theaters.
Since Daredevil is debuting in April, is it possible that it could lay the ground of things to come in Avengers: Age of Ultron or deal with similar events as Coulson and his team? We will have to wait and see but the chance is there.
Marvel should start to promote the series even more in the coming weeks and months leading up to its release. Daredevil stars Charlie Cox, Vincent D'Onofrio, Rosario Dawson, Deborah Ann Woll, and Elden Henson and is directed by Steven DeKnight.
Check out the moving poster Marvel used to announce the release date below!
